Are you dreaming of a break surrounded only by the green of the forest and the silence of nature? Then our Aittokoski log cabin is the right place for you! This charming house, with a history dating back to 1930, is lovingly cared for by us and is waiting to become your home in the Finnish forest.
Arrive, take a deep breath and make yourself comfortable
On a generous 150 m² you will find plenty of space to have a great time with up to 10 people:
- Two cozy little bedrooms each offer two beds for sweet dreams.
- The huge living room is the heart of the house: make yourself comfortable in front of the impressive stone fireplace, relax on the sofa, enjoy meals together at the large dining table or find a place to sleep in one of the six additional beds that are cleverly integrated into the room.
- You can conjure up delicious dishes in the kitchen – either on the electric stove or in the traditional way on the wood stove.
Real Finnish feeling with rustic charm
- Warmth: Enjoy the cozy warmth spread by the traditional wood-burning stoves. Don’t worry, electric light is of course also available!
- Water: Running water from our pump is only available in the vestibule. From there you can easily provide yourself with the essentials, authentic and practical for your Mökki experience.
- Sanitary facilities: The authentic forest house experience is rounded off by the dry toilet (outhouse), which is just a few steps (approx. 20 m) from the house.
- Sauna bliss: What would Finland be without a sauna? Our wood-fired sauna is waiting for you right on the banks of the small pond (only about 50 m away). Sweat, relax and maybe take a refreshing dip in the water?
- Space and privacy:
On our 2,800 m² property, you can enjoy complete privacy – with no neighbours nearby. The large lawn is perfect for relaxing in the sun.
Pure nature & adventure right on the doorstep
Just a stone’s throw away (approx. 400 m) you can hear the roar of the Aittokoski rapids in the Jongunjoki River. The famous “Karhunpolku” (Bear Trail) hiking trail runs right past the house. Whether you want to hike, paddle, fish, enjoy the peace and quiet or just relax and unwind – this is the place for you!
What else you should know for your dream vacation:
- You can get here easily by car.
- Mattresses, blankets and pillows are provided for a good night’s sleep . You can either bring your own bed linen or simply hire it from us.
- Fancy exploring? We are happy to provide you with bicycles and canoes on request (please enquire in advance).
- On departure you can choose whether you want to do the final cleaning yourself or leave it to us. Everything you need to do it yourself (swept clean) is provided. If you prefer to leave it to us, just let us know (bookable service).
