Welcome to our lodge, your very own personal retreat, where coziness, indulgence, and breathtaking experiences blend together in a unique way. Here, you’ll find the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation, nestled in Finland’s picturesque natural surroundings.

Eräkeskus is located in the municipality of Nurmijärvi, about 35 km northeast of Lieksa, 55 km east of Nurmes, and just 15 km from the Kivivaara border crossing with Russia.

Our main building is the vibrant heart of the lodge. Here, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere that invites you to linger and socialize. Just imagine: evenings spent in front of the crackling open fireplace, relaxed conversations at the bar, or simply enjoying a good book from our small library.

In the summer, our covered porch offers a direct view of the lake. Here, you can enjoy the endless, light-filled nights, let the deep silence wash over you, or make new friends.  

For special moments together, our bench right by the lake invites you to daydream. And in the evening? We love to gather around the large fire pit, where stories are told and plans are made—sometimes until the sun rises again over the horizon.

The lodge, a charming Nordic log cabin, was built in 1986 and has been lovingly renovated over the years. Since October 1, 2025, we have been running the lodge with great warmth and a unique blend of Austrian hospitality and Finnish serenity.
